Hyde Park has it all... gothic edifices, modern high rises, mansions, landmark districts, apartments, and many newly constructed single-family homes,
lofts, townhomes, and condominiums.

a great place to live

In 2002 Money Magazine named Chicago as a 'top' city to live in.  Money specifically named Hyde Park a 'top' neighborhood to live in, along with other Chicago neighborhoods such as Andersonville, Bucktown and Wicker Park.  In addition to the standard criteria of solid schools and low crime, Money placed a premium on "green space and culture," both of which are some of Hyde Park's most abundant and rich amenities.

Recently dubbed "Hot Hyde Park" by the Chicago Sun-Times, Hyde Park has received recognition for the increasing value, quality, quantity and range of housing options. This trend underscores the vitality and strength of the area and its continued growth and prosperity... as well as the exciting renewal of the surrounding communities.

At Home in Hyde Park, a University of Chicago publication, provides a snapshot of life in Hyde Park.

Raising our City Kids, is a wonderful resource for parents and features a complete list of Hyde Park schools, after school programs, sport leagues and cultural options for families.

  housing values

Recently named a "top neighborhood" by Money Magazine, Hyde Park-Kenwood continues to see strong sales for existing homes and new construction.

A recent Chicago Tribune article, Destination: South Side, discussed the redevelopment of the communities adjacent to Hyde Park and noted that: "the South Side has become more enticing to home shoppers... attracting people from the suburbs, the North Side, and even out of state."  The quality of the housing stock, housing values and the discovery of the abundant cultural and recreational amenities contributes to the growing appeal of the South Side.
